Your girl, she's a renegade...

COMMENT TO BE ADDED*
all fic is public, all else is locked.

behind the f-lock you may find: rambling and ranting and raving about my life, funny incidents that probably aren't as funny on screen as they are when they happened; reasons why I should have been born in 1940, why I'm either destined to be a crotchety academic or open a bakery and why vinyl pwns all other forms of music; mentions of baking extravaganzas, my endless and true love for tea and the fact that I'd make a fantastic housewife with added sass; the occasional flail!post concerning my current obsessions (Matthew Gray Gubler, Nathan Fillion, James McAvoy, take your pick), love for films of all kinds in all languages and how music is probably the best thing that can happen to someone. Oh, and gin.

me, myself & i: I'm a young woman with a huge imagination and the capacity to talk endlessly even when no-one is listening. I believe in equal opportunity for all genders, races, sexualities and ages. I am a feminist. I am not political (except for the part where I am). I am pro-choice: a woman's body is her own and no-one has the right to take away her choices; this is non-negotiable. I believe in being prepared and that abstinence-only education results only in dangerous ignorance. I do not believe in God, but I have infinite respect for those that do. I believe that you have your opinions and I have mine. Some would call me a pessimist, narcissist, hopeless romantic but more often it’s cynic. (In fact, it’s me.)

If this interests you in any shape, manner or form, comment. Tell me a little about yourself. We'll work something out.

*if you don't comment on this post, I won't add you.

we will be like sailors
(or five kisses at the beginning)
At this point there is nothing much to say, he's just kissed Matthew in the middle of a bar in old L.A.
RPF, (Jospeh Gordon Levitt/Matthew Gray Gubler), 2,833 words
notes: again I choose to blame Julia for this. No harm intended, this is a complete work of fiction and lies and wish-fulfillment. Title from 'Saying Your Names' by Richard Siken.

gossip and gin
This village had extraordinarily bad luck.
Miss Marple/Lord of the Rings (Marple&Baggins) 1363 words
notes: Yeah. You read that right. It saddens me that this is the first thing I've posted in ages. Now, I have written some lulzy things in my time, some seriously lulzy, questionable things. This is by far the worst. This is, I'm afraid, the result of a late-night game of fic!poker, wherein characters are gambled instead of money. This is my punishment for being the worst poker player in the world. Posted so the victors could see and rejoice, Julia? Lucy? I hope you're happy.

i’ll never say a lot of things (and you my love are gone)
Jo’s imagination has never stopped running, not when it comes to Laurie.
Little Women, (Jo/Laurie) PG, 3375 words
notes: for [info]falseeeyelashes . so, this took about forever, and I’m still a little unsure about it because hi! It’s Louisa May Alcott and she’s difficult to fic for. Also, Jo/Laurie was my very first OTP I’m sure. I'm pretty sure that this will eventually have a companion part, from Laurie's point of view that picks up half way through here and ends sometime in their future.

the wedding reception
songs for dancing to in front of friends and family, out on a dancefloor. aka the beginnings of my wedding playlist.

1. Enchanted; Patrick Wolf
2. I've Got You Under My Skin; Frank Sinatra (w. Cole Porter and Nelson Riddle & his Orchestra)
3. For Once In My Life; Vonda Shepard
4. Grow Old With Me; Ben Gibbard (John Lennon cover)
5. Nothing Like You & I; the Perishers
6. How Deep Is Your Love?; The Bird And The Bee
7. Wicked Game; Chris Isaak
8. Jean Genie; David Bowie
9. All My Loving; The Beatles
10. Love Action (I Believe in Love); The Human League
11. Apartment Story; The National
12. Flux; Bloc Party
13. What I'm Trying To Say; Stars
Bonus: Gold; Spandau Ballet

.zip here

It's kind of a bizarre subject for a mix but I really enjoyed making it. The order of this mix is very purposeful, starting out with the 'first dance', then a bit of classic Cole Porter (who will be played constantly at my wedding, I love him so much), sliding into slower, coupley songs leading to another bride&groom moment with Chris Isaak. Then David comes busting in on the emo with his awesome and the 80's come too (with a little 60's thrown in there). Then there's one from the National, (because I am convinced this song takes place at a wedding and considering the cover for Boxer was taken at a friend's wedding, yeah, I'm stopping I swear. But it just fits so well.) then a little Bloc Party to keep the tempo up, finishing with a romantic but fabulous Stars song.

The Spandau Ballet song is there for two reasons:
a) I have an inexplicable thing for Spandau Ballet.
b) Ali? Imagine he's saying 'Bold'. Then it makes sense?

Gossip Girl 2.03 - The Dark Night
Oh Gossip Girl, never stop making me so ridiculously happy. Also, I feel this icon should have 'Dan' instead of Serena because she was really awesome this episode.

in which i abuse the word 'oh' a lot. )
